东南村在汕头市龙湖区新海街道，位于金鸿公路北侧、津东路与金鸿公路相接处，临近外砂河入海口[1]。因在原新溪地域的东南方，1958年起称东南[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

该村位于九合陇东侧，旧时叫上九合，1958年改名东南村，取其居于新溪东南的方位[1]。此地宋代归揭阳县的蓬洲都，1563年澄海建县，蓬洲都随之转入澄海县，民国时仍在澄海县上蓬区。1958年建人民公社，村里成立生产大队，次年一度随外砂公社划入汕头市郊区，1961年6月重新回到澄海县，隶属新溪公社[1]。

经济[edit]

村民约3643人，耕地1130亩，其中水田560亩，种水稻、花生、玉米和蔬菜；相当一部分人从事海产捕捞与养殖，有渔船23只，年捕捞量219吨，淡水养殖86亩，海水养殖221亩，水产品年产525吨[1]。村里还养殖鹌鹑和“三鸟”约30万只，生猪两千五百多头[1]。2009年村里工业产出4100万元，农业产出2070万元；村集体收入47.7万元，农民人均纯收入4523元[1]。
