1961年3月设群星大队，归樟市公社；1983年11月称群星乡，1986年12月改设村委会，1989年称群星管理区。[1]

地名由来[edit]

群众生活渐渐改善，如繁星闪亮，故名群星。[1]

经济[edit]

耕地方面，水田4350多亩，旱地3600多亩；作物以萝卜、花生、黄豆、红瓜子、鸡心黄皮为主（博雅地名网）。[1]村里近年引进红萝卜基地项目，计划种500亩，采用机械喷灌；另有一个年出栏超过一万头的大型养猪场。[1]
