历史沿革[edit]
1951年5月设东约村政府，1952年3月改东约乡，隶马坝区；1961年3月改东约大队，归樟市公社。1983年11月称东约乡，1986年12月改设村委会，1989年称东约管理区。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村在樟市镇东部，「约」取博文约礼之意，故称东约。[1]
经济[edit]
耕地方面，水田3500多亩，旱地4000多亩；作物以优质谷、沙田柚、柑、橙为主（博雅地名网）。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，东约村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
