钟岭村属广州市增城区中新镇，是镇辖的行政村。博雅地名网所载村情记其面积3.8平方千米，耕地约3850亩，户籍人口1050人（286户），流动人口45人，下辖5个自然村、10个村民小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

关于村名有两种说法：一说村的地形像虎头，虎吼如洪钟；另一说是后龙山形似一口大金钟，故称钟岭。[1]

村民的始祖大有祖于南宋1279年前后迁来建村。1950年解放初，钟岭归福和乡；1958年并入中新公社时划入山美大队，1964年分出，单立钟岭大队；1983年大队改称乡，1987年起成立钟岭村民委员会，属中新镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村里建有陈氏宗祠一座，占地500平方米，雕梁画栋，墙上灰塑很多；另有占地60平方米的炮楼和占地50平方米的文昌塔各一座。[1]
