历史沿革[edit]
1956年这里有永联、下湖两个高级社，1958年公社化时并成简村大队，隶新塘公社。1983年成为简村乡，1987年设简村村民委员会，由永和镇管辖，2004年随镇并入新塘镇，2012年转入永宁街道。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村情介绍称，全村分10个合作社，604户、2552人，面积5平方公里，其中耕地980亩、山地2367亩；全村一年经济总收入可达2200多万元，人均收入5800元。[1] 村里投入500多万元硬化道路，铺设水泥路面8.5公里，另投入100多万元建了3个文化室和3个灯光球场，并利用三旧改造政策整合土地。[1]
简村在2020年至2022年连续列入淘宝村名单；2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2026年1月获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
