历史沿革[edit]
地名由来一说，村民围着园子种蒌橙，原称柳原，后谐音为蒌园，再改为篓元。[1] 清乾隆年间，村民先祖从兴宁迁入；1956年建有永胜、蒌园两个高级社，1958年公社化时合并，因蒌园是大村而称蒌元大队，隶新塘公社。1983年大队改为蒌园乡；1987年改称蒌元，设村民委员会，由永和镇管辖；2004年随镇并入新塘镇，2012年转入永宁街道。[1]
地理与经济[edit]
村情介绍称，村在永和圩，东邻九如村，南接简村，西面是广州经济技术开发区东区，北面是叶岭村，面积约3平方公里，11个合作社，3300人，主要产业是种养业。[1]
2021年12月，蒌元村获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
