历史沿革[edit]
1953年，简村与福华、弼唐、石紫、圣堂四村合为简弼乡，属南海县一区；1958年人民公社化时，乡撤销，改为超英人民公社的简弼大队，同年12月简村改划入佛山市郊区。次年，市政府征用简村的土地和鱼塘办起一家淡水养殖场，1969年养殖场撤销，简村重新划归张槎公社，成为简村大队。自1976年起，简村（连同福华村）成为独立的行政、经济单位。1983年底设乡政府；1987年3月起冠以张槎镇之名，称简村村民委员会；1989年成为管理区；1999年复称村民委员会；2002年12月随张槎镇划入禅城区。[3]

博雅地名网载，村总人口约6380人，其中常住780人、暂住约5600人。[2]
经济[edit]
村集体物业以服装批发、肉菜市场和商业办公出租为主，产业以童服批发为主。该村2010年获「广东省A级卫生村」称号。[2]
