东方红村位于广州市南沙区横沥镇东南部，东邻万顷沙镇，西接中山市民众镇。[1]

名称与历史[edit]

村名取自“大跃进”时期歌曲《东方红》里的“东方红，太阳升”。清道光二十年（1840年）左右围垦成田。人民公社化时为东方红大队，后属万顷沙公社，到1977年10月转归新设的横沥公社，1987年改设村民委员会。[1]

概况[edit]

村域约1.5平方千米，耕地1024亩，出产香蕉、石榴、玉米和蔬菜，也养鱼。2009年约900亩鱼塘完成标准化整治，引入鳗鱼养殖龙头企业，鳗鱼成为“一村一品”项目。2020年444户、1208人。[1]该村在2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
