东方红村是广东省茂名市化州市鉴江街道的行政村，在化州市政府驻地正东约6千米处，辖25个自然村，地形为平原。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
这一带在民国后期归庆安乡，1950年归北国乡；土地改革时划入镇安山尾乡第四区，设旺竹、甲塘、北国三个合作社。1958年人民公社化，隶南盛公社，三社改为大队，1962年合为东方红大队。此后1983年称东方红乡，1987年起叫东方红村民委员会，1989年曾作东方红管理区办事处，1999年又归村民委员会至今。[1]
经济[edit]
村里养殖业较发达，务农的约占劳动力的八成，种水稻、瓜菜、椒类和花生，其余的人做工商和手工业，另有集体企业1家；村内有初中1所、小学3所。[1]广东省农业农村厅在2022年10月认定它为「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，主打千禧圣女果。[1]
文化[edit]
荣誉方面：2019年10月入选广东省卫生村；2022年8月成为省民主法治示范村（社区）的创建单位；2026年1月被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
