红海村位于万顷沙镇十四涌，灵新公路以东，濒临珠江口，是一条渔业村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
红海一带自1963年起陆续围垦成田。1972年，渔民响应番禺县的号召组建连家渔船，定居十四涌；翌年，新造公社渔业大队的25户164人和鱼窝头公社渔业大队的33户187人迁来，合编为新垦公社红海渔业大队。[1]
其后三年称新三乡人民政府（1984至1986年）；村民委员会设于1987年，隶新垦镇，2002年起属万顷沙镇，2005年10月由番禺区改属南沙区。[1]
村名来自渔船外出作业时各插红旗、远看似一片红色海洋。[1]
人口与荣誉[edit]
2008年全村133户、456人，辖区面积582亩，耕地261.4亩。[1]
2017年10月，获「第一批广东省卫生村」称号；2024年11月，获「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」认定；2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
