工程村在万顷沙镇南部新垦片，十四涌南堤西路一带，东、西两面均与红洋村相邻，现有耕地280亩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
沙尾一村在1969年为围垦造田派出部分村民来此，这里于是成为沙尾一村的飞地；1974年1月1日编为该村第21生产队，1979年6月起归围垦工程组下的生产大队。[1]
1984年，与工程大队合编为新垦二乡；工程村民委员会设于1987年，属新垦镇，2002年起属万顷沙镇，2005年10月起属南沙区。[1]
村名来自1975年划归新垦公社工程指挥部管理，并曾取名「工程一队」。[1]
人口与土地[edit]
2008年全村47户、187人；原有耕地537亩，因炼化一体化项目征收271亩，现存280亩，总人口193人。[1]
