红洋村位于万顷沙镇十四涌畔，灵新公路以西、万环西路以东，是一条渔业村，被介绍为广州市最南端的村庄。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
红洋一带1963年起围垦成陆。1971年，来自万顷沙五涌的渔业队在这里定居，在跃进围、新三围、六九围落脚，属番禺县新垦人民公社。[1]
1984年，红洋渔业大队同工程村编为新二乡，隶新垦区公所；1986年3月起称红洋村。1987年撤区设镇后成立村民委员会，2005年10月起属南沙区。[1]
村名与渔船有关：渔民外出作业时每条船都插红旗，远望如一片红色的海洋。[1]
人口与荣誉[edit]
2011年全村346户、1261人，其中约八成是渔民；辖区面积1280亩，耕地609亩。[1]
2017年10月，获「第一批广东省卫生村」称号；2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
