万顷沙镇是广东省广州市南沙区西南部的镇，东面以蕉门水道为界，南濒伶仃洋，西隔洪奇沥水道与中山市相望，北接珠江街道和横沥镇，总面积142.85平方千米。[1][2]镇域由清代道光年间起陆续围垦的沙田连成，因垦区广阔而得名；2020年第七次人口普查常住人口46045人。[1][3]下辖新垦社区和15个行政村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
万顷沙一带原是珠江口的浅海滩涂，旧称乌珠大洋。清道光十八年（1838年），东莞的明伦堂在此组织围垦，期望在大片水面上垦出万顷良田，镇名由此而来。[2][3]
1849年建乡，属东莞县缺口司；民国初年属东莞县第九区。1949年10月设万顷沙特别行政区，1950年改称东莞县第九区，沙洲按涌分为沙头、沙中、沙尾三个乡，即一涌至五涌、六涌至九涌、九涌至十三涌。[2]1953年万顷沙划入珠海县，1957年划入中山县，1959年7月转属番禺县，其间曾设万顷沙区、万顷沙乡和万顷沙公社。[2]
1972年，十三涌以南的土地连同两个渔业队划出，另立新垦公社。万顷沙公社于1983年底改为万顷沙区，1987年撤区设镇。[2]2002年3月，新垦镇并入，镇下共有17个村（居）委会；2005年10月，全镇由番禺区改属南沙区。[2][3]2009年1月，原设在镇上的万顷沙居委会并入珠江街道，此后镇辖16个村（居）委会，即新垦社区与15个村。[2]
地理环境[edit]
全镇是人工围垦出的河网平原，自北面的四涌向南排到二十一涌，西界洪奇沥，东界蕉门水道，南端临伶仃洋。地面平坦，由西北向东南渐低，境内河涌29条，总长103.5千米。[2]
1991年至2015年间，岸线向南推进到二十一涌。田地以沙田为主，按高程分高、中、低三类；沿岸滩涂按5米等深线计，面积近20万亩。[2]

据百度百科，2020年末第七次人口普查常住人口为46045人。[1]快懂百科另载较新的数字：常住6.28万人，含户籍3.8万人、流动人口2.48万人。[2]
经济[edit]
镇内以沙田农业见长，种植水稻、甘蔗、香蕉、莲藕、番石榴、番木瓜等。新垦莲藕是国家地理标志保护产品，万顷沙香蕉在2002年获广州市名优农产品称号。[2]据快懂百科，截至2022年，农业总产值为38.24亿元，约占南沙区农业总产值的四成。[2]
2019年末，镇内有工业企业46个，其中规模以上15个。[1]同兴村设有工业园。[4]
镇域排名方面，2025年列全国千强镇第476位，全国镇域经济500强第329位；2022年获认定为广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业镇。[2][4]

镇内河涌纵横，各村按水乡习惯举办群众体育活动，如赛农艇、扒禾桶和斗桡（水上拔河）。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
南沙湿地公园位于十八涌与十九涌之间，原为珠江口泥滩；1963年起围垦，1990年代开始种植红树林，1995年成立管理机构，一期于2008年元旦对外开放，二期于2013年4月开放。公园占地约9600亩，曾以「湿地唱晚」之名入选2011年「羊城八景」，并列为国家4A级旅游景区，后又称大湾区中央湿地公园。[7]截至2021年底，园内种有红树林约1800亩，监测到鸟类185种。[7]
百万葵园在新垦十五涌，2002年建成开放，占地26万平方米，以向日葵为主题，园内另有薰衣草、玫瑰、松鼠乐园等。[5][6]据百度百科，园区因设施升级，自2024年8月27日起暂停开放。[5]
