新桥村在广州市番禺区大龙街道中部，是一个行政村，村域约2.5平方千米，市莲路和清河路从村中穿过。[1]据博雅地名网，1375年（洪武八年），广州左卫陈德部下的屯垦军队驻扎于此，在河涌上修桥，把隔河相对的金边村与村屋碑合为新桥屯，后来才改称新桥村。[1]村内有九成书院、圣母宫、跨龙桥三处广州市文物保护单位。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

村里原有一条小河纵贯全境，河东叫金边村（今东坊），河西叫村屋碑（今南、西、北三坊）。[1]驻军在1375年（洪武八年）于河涌上修桥，两村连成新桥屯。[1]同一页的沿革栏又写，村建于洪武九年（1376年），两种说法差一年。[1]新桥村民委员会设于1987年。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子在大龙街中部，四面分别是沙涌村（东）、傍江东村（西）、雁洲村（南）和茶东村（北），属耕沙与半沙民地区，离市桥城区约6千米。[1]村情介绍称耕地350亩。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村情介绍说，常住农业户口1069户，其中农业人口共4037，外来暂住者约18800；一篇调研文章称，外来人口占总人口的七成。[1][3]

经济[edit]

村集体主要靠出租土地、厂房和商铺。[1]这篇调研还称新桥村是番禺的「亿元村」之一。[3]街道在村里把约180亩连片耕地建成都市水稻的绿色种养区，搞稻耕研学。[4]新桥村2020至2022年每年入选淘宝村名单。[1]

文化[edit]

九成书院在厚德大街，在新桥小学校内，清代古建筑，为第九批广州市文物保护单位。[1][3]2017年，番禺区文物办主持了书院的一期修缮；2019年村里出资70万元做二期，修复了两侧钟鼓楼和风雨长廊。[3]书院现为学校开展醒狮、武术、书法教学的场所，挂牌「广东省武术协会精武会番禺新桥武术醒狮训练基地」，并入选「广州市第一批文物保护利用典型案例」。[3][4]

圣母宫、跨龙桥都在南坊，清代古建筑，2008年12月公布为第七批广州市文物保护单位。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年1月，被确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；2023年8月，获评「2022年度广州市美丽乡村」；2024年11月，列入「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」名单；2026年1月，获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
