竹山村是广东省广州市番禺区大龙街道西北角的行政村，村域约0.47平方千米，下辖2个村民小组。[1]相传南宋末年（1275年）建村，最初因坐落在一处没有植被的山岗下而叫白岗；清乾隆己酉年（1789年），村民见旁边山岗上长满竹子，遂改称竹山。[1]抗日战争期间，竹山是一处抗日根据地。[1]

据传，竹山在1275年前后建村，原名白岗。[1]1789年改称竹山，缘由是村旁山岗竹林密布。[1]据博雅地名网，抗战时期的竹山是根据地之一；到1987年，成立竹山村民委员会，延用到现在。[1]
地理环境[edit]
竹山村在大龙街西北，与旧水坑村、罗家村、新水坑村等相邻，距街道办事处约7千米。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村情介绍写的是常住500人，另有外来流动人口5000人，未标年份。[1]
荣誉[edit]
村情介绍说，竹山村拿过番禺区的先进单位、文明村、安全村、计生合格村，以及广州市文明村等称号，但没有写年份。[1]村民从前就在村四周栽种树木，用以美化环境。[1]
