下坪村在黄柏乡西部，离乡所在地8.2公里，由下坪与石二两个自然村组成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村前有一块平坦的台地，土层厚实肥沃，最初称厚坪，后因读音相近改为下坪。[1]

1975年恢复县制时，福安市潭头公社的下坪大队划归黄柏公社。1984年设立下坪村委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

全村有249户、988人，其中常住481人，流动507人，分为8个村民小组。群众主要姓氏为王、陈、游、吴、杨，农民的主要收入来自茶叶和太子参。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年6月，下坪村入选「福建省第四批省级传统村落」。同年11月，该村被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」，同月又被宁德市列为「一村一品」专业村；同年12月确定为「2021年度福建省一村一品示范村」，主导产业为红美人橙。[1]
