岭头村是路下乡西部的行政村，位于屏南县西部，距屏南城关约53公里。村中包括山峰自然村，村民以吴、魏、李、王、苏、袁、林七姓为主。村名的来由是村周围高山峻岭，村中有一条通往建瓯的山路。[1][2]

村周围高山峻岭，村中有一条通往建瓯的山路，以山路所在的岭得名。[1]

建国前，此村属第一区芳院乡。1958年到1962年间归长桥公社，设岭头大队；1963年起改由路下公社管理。1984年改为路下乡岭头村委会，至今仍用此名。[1]

全村142户、552人，划为6个村民小组，耕地面积600亩。[2]
