东村位于古田县西部，在五华山麓以西，东与梅洋村相接，西与南平市巨口、洋后为邻，北连上坪村，南邻村尾村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名旧称东山村。据博雅地名网所载，村中始祖曾任县丞，其长子约在公元1025年前后迁居东山，至今已有960余年。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2000年被评为古田县文明村。[1]

经济[edit]

村内山地广阔，森林资源丰富，盛产水蜜桃、油奈和茭白。[1]
