东边村是赤溪镇的行政村，位于镇西南约4.7公里，雁乐溪东侧，海拔约80米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名因位于黄田之东而得，也有一说是地处溪流之东。[1]

1369年（明洪武二年）建村，居民以黄姓、郑姓为主。1958年组建大队，1979年由黄田划出另设大队，1984年改为村民委员会。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

辖4个村民小组，共116户、498人。现有及出过大学文化的有12人，常驻人口260人。[2]

经济[edit]

耕地455亩，林地2056亩，其中有林地1363亩。以农业为主，主产稻谷、茶叶，兼产蘑菇、茉莉花、甘蔗，并有水蜜桃，林业以松、毛竹为主。[2]

文化[edit]

村内鲤鱼溪边有一处宋代石刻，刻于1085年（宋元丰八年），竖刻楷书，字迹清楚，保存良好，尺寸为高1.45米、宽0.83米。[2]

2021年11月，东边村获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号，由福建省爱卫办命名。2024年6月，东边村列入「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
