岭背村是白砂镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域东部，省道308线穿村而过。村名的来历与早年修砌的一条石岭有关。全村辖9个自然村，村委会驻岭背。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

相传早年有人在一处岗子背上做工，后迁往另一处岗子背定居，其后代与他一起修砌了一条石岭，石岭两端因而有岭头、岭背之分，此后便定名岭背。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代属白砂里，民国时属岭背保。刘氏由古田迁入，明代又有邓氏由蛟洋迁来，吴氏也曾在此居住。[2]

1949年解放初称岭背村，1951年设白砂区（第六区）岭背乡，1956年组成岭背高级社。1958年4月撤区并乡后并入田背乡，同年公社化，为白砂公社田背管理区的岭背大队。[2]

1984年改为白砂乡岭背村民委员会，1993年改为白砂镇岭背村民委员会。辖9个自然村（含21个村民小组），村委会驻岭背自然村。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2011年，村党支部被县委评为先进基层党组织，村庄被福建省政府命名为生态村。[1]

2021年11月，岭背村列入2021年福建省卫生村名单。[1]
