据地名说明，此地过去有一处羊舍，村名因此叫作洋朋。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1961年自茂坡分出，设立洋朋大队；1983年起称洋朋乡；洋朋农村管理区一名始于1986年；1999年改由村民委员会管理，至今未变。[1]
2021年12月，该村获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
