大元村位于永兴镇境内，本名大源村，高头山的一条溪流源出于村中。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地隶属永平里的永平图，民国期间称大源保，仍属永兴镇。1950年划入第四区，1956年改属永兴区，1958年9月编入永兴公社。1961年从原大队析出，单设大元大队；1962年一度并入他队，1982年5月再次独立成队。1984年改为永兴乡的大元村民委员会，1993年8月划归永兴镇。[1]
