东南社区隶属福建省泉州市惠安县螺城镇，地处县城南大门，东边靠建设大街，西边与科山山麓相接。[1]

社区因位于县城东南部而得名，2003年11月由居委会改设为社区。境内的惠安县正堂许示禁碑为清代石刻。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，此地属惠安县邑，东面称乐善铺，南面称庆泉铺。民国时东面叫螺峯街，南面叫忠烈街。[1]

建国初设城关区东街和南街两个街公所，之后又称街委会。1958年归红旗人民公社城关管理区，称东南生产大队；1961年改属城关镇人民公社；1966年文革期间设红星街革委会。[1]

1978年撤销人民公社与革委会，复设城关镇东南居委会。2003年11月撤居设社区，同时成立了社区党委。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

惠安县正堂许示禁碑立于清宣统元年（1909年），嵌在东南街圣堂巷的林咸祠内。林咸是明嘉靖年间任惠安县令的人。[1]
