族源[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，明洪武二年（1369年），林氏一支从莆田贤良港来到惠北海滨，在犁山北麓的竹坑安家。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代属十一都良兴铺。1947年设岭头保，隶属天马乡；1949年设岭头乡，属涂岭第7区。[1]

1951年属南埔第9区，1958年设岭头大队，隶属超先公社。1961年南埔公社设立后，原大队拆分出岭头大队。[1]

1966年并合为岭头大队，归南埔公社。1985年，公社改制后设岭头村委会，归南埔乡。2000年，岭头自南埔镇划出，成为界山镇岭头村委会。[1]
