此村处在盖尾镇的东北隅，东面与东许村相接，西面紧邻后山村，北面与星庄、后井两村为邻，南面则与杉尾、昌山相望。村内有高厝与下李两个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

清代，村中的先祖由外地迁来开发。村周围有一条长约200米的石阶岭通往村落，当地称“地岭头”，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前此地属香北乡，1958年归盖尾公社，1984年改设岭头村民委员会，隶属盖尾乡；1992年属盖尾镇。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中榕树成片，老厝众多，另有上下厝祠堂与先生祠。岭头李章至旧居位于新厝房自然村，岭头李氏祖居位于李厝自然村，二者均为仙游县一般不可移动文物点。[1][4]
