新圩镇是福建省厦门市翔安区下辖的镇，位于翔安区北部，镇政府驻新圩社区。全镇有4个社区与14个行政村，地形以山地为主，属半山区。[1][2]

新圩之名出自旧时的圩集。古宅大蒜与乌山青葱是本镇的特产，古宅十八弯、境仕院遗址等古迹分布于各村。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

关于地名来历，一说是蒋、石、许三姓先在此开店，随后集市在龙山市与下埔市之后形成，故称「新圩」；另一说认为此地的圩集设立得比大同、马巷都晚，因而得名「新圩」。[1]

清代这里设有新圩汛，派把总驻守，并建烟火墩报警，此墩后已废弃。[1]

1956年称新凤乡。1958年新凤、牧茶、诗林三乡并为新圩乡，1964年成为新圩公社，1984年又改回新圩乡，1988年设镇。2003年归翔安区管辖。[1]

地理环境[edit]

镇域北面与南安市相接，东面以大帽山农场为邻，西面紧靠同安区五显镇，南面则与同安区洪塘镇以及本区的马巷街道、内厝镇接壤。全镇面积77.03平方千米（不含大帽山农场），山地约49平方千米，属半山区。[2]

镇区距翔安区驻地约15千米，离厦门岛直线距离约25千米。[2]

境内的古宅水库在古宅村，曾溪水库在村尾村。[1]

经济[edit]

农业以蔬菜、花生和稻谷为主，果树有龙眼、荔枝、芭乐、菠萝与释迦。[2]

古宅大蒜注册了商标，销往东南亚与加拿大等地；新圩豆干作坊同样持有注册商标。[2]

据博雅地名网，厦门市青葱种植的主要基地设在乌山村。[1]

文化[edit]

镇内的民俗活动见于博雅地名网所列：香山庙会、宋江阵、拍胸舞、风狮爷信俗、春仔花习俗与农民画。[1]

2006年1月，环境保护部把「第四批全国环境优美乡镇」称号授予本镇；2020年7月，全国爱卫会将本镇命名为「2017-2019周期国家卫生乡镇（县城）」；同年12月，本镇列入「2020年福建省森林城镇」名单；2021年2月，又入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[1]
