西边社区是福建省厦门市思明区开元街道下辖的社区，位于城区，因辖内西边社得名。政府部门现称其为将军祠社区。[1][2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

明代此地属二十三都豪社乡，清代属吴豪保。1945年10月划入厦西区的将江保与禾山区的文双保；1950年4月改隶禾祥的街公所，后改为街政，并归禾山区梧村乡管辖。[2][3]

1954至1956年间，这里先后经历了禾祥街政、溪岸街道的划分。1960年隶属公园公社将军祠分社；约1964年分社改为西塔居委会，1966年又更名大庆居委会。[3]

1979年，大庆居委会分为西边、塔厝两处。1990年，梧村街道西山村的一部分并入西边居委会；1992年，西边分出阳台山居委会；1997年8月，塔厝、西边又各自划出一部分，另立电台山居委会。[3]

2001年，电台山的区域回并本社区；2003年，塔厝并入，同年又有梧村文灶社区的原文兴区域划入，此后归开元街道。20世纪60年代，这里曾是新开辟的工业区，有橡胶厂、电池厂等企业。[3]
