历史沿革[edit]
名称的来历是：居委会南靠辽阔的南海，一带曾林木茂密[1]。聚落形成于明朝初年。1949年设乡，隶覃巴区；1957年成高级社，隶梅博乡；翌年改称营，编入梅菉公社；1961年曾分作博茂、官衙、西边三个大队，1963年合为博茂大队；1983年改乡并入大山江公社，1987年起设管理区，1997年改居委会，由海滨街道管辖[1]。
人口与经济[edit]
居委会自述有2249户、户籍人口13252人[2]；街道概况则记为3024户、15121人，自然村为大庙、井头、清源、官衙、路口[3]。辖区厂企商铺密集，以海产品加工、废品回收见长，设小学3所[2]。
