西边村是福建省福州市马尾区亭江镇下辖的行政村，地处闽江北岸，位于亭江镇西部，紧挨104国道，交通便捷。[1][3]

村子以位置得名，1950年设西边乡，1984年改为西边村，1995年11月改属马尾区亭江镇。村中有海外乡亲捐资建成的多处公共设施。[4][3]

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网称，此地古时三面临海，只有西面靠山，故称西边。村以居住在西边得名。[5]

历史沿革[edit]

此地1950年成立西边乡，到1956年组织西边高级社，当时归闽侯县马尾第三区管理。1958年改为西边大队，1984年改称西边村，1995年11月划归马尾区亭江镇。[4]

地理与村情[edit]

村子土地面积6.25平方千米，森林覆盖率为47%，林地2160亩。据2024年马尾区政府网站报道，农田为350亩，村民总户数726户，常住人口720人。博雅地名网则载农田500亩、村民570户、常住1010人，该页未注统计年份，两说并列。[2][3]

侨乡与公共设施[edit]

村中的门廊、幼儿园、国兴小学、环村路、敬老院、平安桥，以及象山公园、棋盘山登山公路，大多由海外乡亲出资或参与捐建。西边影剧院始建于20世纪80年代，后由村两委和223名海外侨胞集资翻新。[3]

象山广场四周河水环绕，广场内设有移风易俗主题公园。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2010年、2012年，西边村两次被镇党委、政府评为新农村建设先进村。[2]
