刁潭村是兴宁市刁坊镇的行政村，在镇政府西面约2.5公里，辖16个村民小组，190户、868人，面积约1.5平方公里，耕地493亩^[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

宁江流经此处时形成一个较大的深潭，故名刁潭^[1]。村子原属三潭大队，1970年宁江改道，村庄落在河东，与三潭隔河相望，便分出成立刁潭大队；1987年设刁潭村，后改称管理区，1999年称村委会^[1]。

村里主要种水稻，据记载该年全村农村经济总收入621万元^[1]。
