环市村在留隍镇南端，紧挨集镇，人口七千多，是留隍镇人口最多的村，村民讲潮汕话。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村在留隍集镇外围，成立大队时取名环市。[1]1958年人民公社化后隶留隍公社，编为环市大队；1984年公社改为区时叫环市乡；1987年镇建立后叫环市管理区；至1999年改称环市村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村内土地肥沃，出产稻谷、蒜苗、甘薯、花生、木薯、蔬菜、水果和席草。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

环市村包括环市、环联、环新、环南四个居民聚落。村临韩江，历史上常受洪水之害，先人在江边栽榕树成林以固堤，青金古庙即建在这片榕林里。青金巷是村中姓氏较多的自然村，共有十三个姓；相传各姓祖先来此立村时，每姓各辟一条巷，后来其中十个姓共建青金古庙，近年又在庙旁建起青金巷文化室。堤上古榕经数百年已长成参天大树，气根交织。[2]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2019年9月公布的「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单中有该村。[1]
  • 「第一批广东省卫生村」，2017年10月由广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授牌。[1]
