历史沿革[edit]
1949年之后，这里叫河南岸自然村，归河南岸乡人民政府。其后几经改隶：1956年随河南岸高级农业合作社并入三栋大乡；1958年1月转入惠环大乡，6月又划入马安甘蔗场第二作业；1961年定为河南岸公社的河南岸大队；1975年8月从惠环公社分出，划归五七人民公社；1982年五七公社更名鹅埔角公社；1983年12月公社改称区公所，大队管委会改为乡人民政府；1987年乡政府改设管理区；1999年撤销管理区、设立村，名河南岸村，沿用至今[3]。
人口民族[edit]
全村分为10个村民小组，包括庵前、渡船头、低地、鸿昌、池头、流江、苏屋、苏屋墩、陶屋、李屋。2010年，村里户籍人口2953人（674户），外来流动人口约8000人[2]。
经济[edit]
该村属于典型的“城中村”，2010年村集体经济总收入约262万元，人均纯收入10125元[2]。1994年10月，村获广东省军区的“民兵基层建设达标先进单位”称号；1999年1月，获广东省档案局的“档案综合管理达标省一级单位”称号[2]。2012年7月，南城社区从本村划出[4]。
