地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，村民始祖为山西太原的郭姓，其分支祠堂号“太原”，村名由此而来。[1]
概况[edit]
下辖10个村民小组，总人口2781人；有水田1349亩、旱地129亩。村中种有约15亩蔬菜基地、约15亩沙糖桔种苗基地和约20亩甘蔗基地。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
太原乡设于1950年，1956年为合作社，1958年归维安大队；1963年并入新华大队，1973年单独设太原大队；1983年11月设乡，1987年起称村委会，1989年4月又作管理区，1998年定名村民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年8月，太原村（红宝石芭乐）列入首批「广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」；2022年1月，被确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；2024年3月，获「2023年广东省卫生村」称号；2024年4月，入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1]
