湾边村的东边是井塘村，东北是金山村，西边是长湖村，一侧临广海北线公路，一侧临广茂铁路。[1]

村里400多户、1500多人，18名党员，集体经济总收入6万多元。2008至2009年筹资30多万元建文化广场和环村大道。[1] 2026年3月，湾边村被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1904年以后属高要县，位于四区、二区的金山乡，旧称金山乡（黄边村）。1958年起叫大湾边大队，1983年改湾边乡，1998年成湾边村民委员会。[1]
