金兴村是湛江市麻章区湖光镇的行政村，据博雅地名网，村名寄托了靠海人家平安出海、财丁两旺的愿望。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村子建在近海的滩地一带，村民出海谋生，求平安，也盼财源和人丁兴旺，故名「金兴」。1952年设金兴乡，1958年成为金兴大队；1983年同邻近的五个大队并入新圩乡；1987年分出，设金兴村民委员会；1990年改称金兴管理区；1999年恢复村民委员会之名，沿用至今。[1]
