历史沿革[edit]
清道光年间，江滩淤积扩展，此处聚居成村；之后行政区划几经调整，1999年定名大鳌尾村[1]。
经济[edit]
耕地中水稻510亩、鱼塘2720亩、其他107亩[1]。村民以种稻和养鱼为底，发展高产、高质、高效的“三高”农业，并有工业[1]。临江的条件使黄鱼养殖成为特色，全村有渔船84艘，约占全镇三分之一；2023年对336.7公顷虾塘做标准化改造[1]。2021年，该村列入省级全域土地综合整治试点[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
大鳌尾湿地公园在环岛碧道的南端堤岸，占地77.8亩，设有观鸟楼，近年引进露营等项目[2]。
