历史沿革[edit]
1958年底，敦厚从南海县幸福人民公社改划入佛山市郊区人民公社，扶西村并入其生产大队；1962年曾拆成六个大队（东、南、西、北四区，直街和扶西），1964年春重新合一；1966年曾拟改称红村，没有沿用。80年代它先后改为乡政府、管理区办事处，隶石湾区环市镇；禅城区成立后仍属环市镇，2003年9月环市改设街道，2006年6月起归祖庙街道。[3]
经济[edit]
村集体收入以物业租赁为主，辖区里设有佛山综合批发市场、城北批发市场、快捷汽配市场，以及服装鞋类批发市场。[2]
