历史沿革[edit]
相传明永乐年间，陈姓人家由福建莆田出发，经潮州一带迁到这里立村，因地势低洼，起名“横窖”，后人见这里形如凤身，改称凤窖[1][3]。宋代属揭阳县蓬洲都，1563年起改隶澄海县；1932年属上蓬区，1958年属外砂人民公社，1984年属外砂区，1986年属外砂镇[1]。
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网的概况页称面积1.15平方千米、约1180户共5641人；百度百科则写面积1.53平方千米，人口约1万人（2020年统计），两者口径不同[1][2]。村里有陈、林、廖、黄、胡、吴、张等姓氏。收入以农业为主，改革开放后设了工业区，另有工艺、纺织、养殖[1][2]。
文化[edit]
据百度百科，村内现存潮汕风格的宗祠13座，清末开挖了环村的玉带溪；村里供奉妈祖，每年农历三月廿三祭祀妈祖诞辰，村民也有演潮剧的传统[2]。
