下蔡村是汕头市龙湖区龙华街道下辖的行政村，位于汕头外砂机场北侧，国道324线从村中穿过，面积0.33平方千米[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
早在明初，这里已有渔民和农户，聚落名下尾。嘉靖四十五年（1566年），蔡瞻顶一家从澄海南界的蔡厝搬到此地，子孙逐渐增多，村名就改称下蔡[2]。
人口[edit]
博雅地名网的街道页写到，该村约有490户、2598人，是汕头市经济较发达的农村之一[1]。
