历史沿革[edit]
石下的建制沿革：1958年设为大队，1983年设乡政府，1987年改设村委会，1989年称管理区，1998年恢复村委会，沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
村民以种稻为主，兼营毛竹和禽畜养殖，不少人外出务工。[1]石下村以水稻列入广东省农业农村厅2020年8月公布的首批省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2019年9月，该村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
五山梯田位于上黎家组，面积约3500亩，海拔多在800至1000米，2014年入选「中国美丽田园」十大梯田景观。[2]近年当地把梯田与红色遗迹串成「重走长征路」线路，国庆前后稻熟时游人较多。[3][4]
红军长征遗迹[edit]
1934年11月，红军在收割后的梯田里宿营，随后翻越大王山。留下的一批伤员后来被敌人搜捕杀害，村民把18位烈士安葬在河边，墓旁种了18棵侧柏。[3]1978年，上黎组村民黎成双盖房挖土时掘出一批步枪，经专家鉴定是红军当年埋藏的，原件现由粤北的红军长征纪念馆收藏。[3]
