名称由来[edit]
村子在南水水库辖区内，因此得名[1]。
建制沿革[edit]
南水村一带在1949年后先设南水乡，1958年改称南水大队，1983年成立南水乡政府，1986年设村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1998年重设村民委员会，此后名称不变[1]。
人口与经济[edit]
据博雅地名网所载数字（未注年份），全村216户931人。村民靠水库发展养鱼，约两成村民投资网箱养鱼；水库被列为备用水源加以保护整治后，一部分村民改做旅游和餐饮[1]。
2021年，澎湃新闻报道，南水村二队的一块丢荒近20年的土地经镇干部调解，解决了42户、314亩承包地的经营权纠纷和确权问题[2]。村党群服务中心设在村内[2]。2019年9月，南水村进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」之列[1]。
