名称由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，阁家岭是长溪河与龙溪河的分水岭，岭东、岭西各有成片水田，原属同一个地主，为便于管理，东边的叫东田，西边的叫西田；西田后来被水库淹没，东田之名则沿用至今[1]。
建制与地理[edit]
东田村一带在1949年后先设东田乡，1958年改称东田大队，1983年成立东田乡政府，1986年设村民委员会，1989年改设管理区，1998年重设村民委员会，此后名称不变[1]。
村委会东面是新村，西、南两面濒临南水水库，北面与长溪、茶坪两村相接[1]。京港澳高速公路在东田村设有出入口[2]。
