历史沿革[edit]
传说这里从前有一千多亩洞田，一次大雨伴着雷电引发特大洪水，许多良田被冲毁，村子因此叫雷坑[1]。
新中国成立后称雷坑乡，1958年为雷坑大队，1984年复称乡，1986年成立村民委员会，1989年改为管理区，1998年撤管理区并设村委会；原属曲江县，2004年行政区划调整后归仁化县管辖，村名没有改动[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，雷坑村列入「「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」的名单[1]。
