历史沿革[edit]
村子建于宋末元初。土改时（1951年）设横塱乡，农业合作化时（1956年）办有银京、新生两个社，公社化后合并为横塱大队，隶属中新公社，后转入朱村公社；1983年成为横塱乡，1987年设村民委员会，2004年朱村镇改街道后属朱村街道。[1]
经济[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，横塱村常住居民约4281人，耕地4960亩，农民年均收入7267元（2009年）。村内的荔枝世界是观光农业园，收集荔枝品种26个，该网页称其为增城品种最集中的村。[1] 2017年10月，横塱村得到第一批广东省卫生村称号。[1]
