历史沿革[edit]
传说宋代先民从福建途经南雄迁来建村。土改时（1951年）这里叫吓岗乡，合作化时（1956年）建有联群农业合作社，公社化后称山田大队，隶属中新公社，后转入朱村公社；1983年成为山田乡，1987年设山田村民委员会，2004年2月起属朱村街道。[1]
经济[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，山田村户籍居民3489人，另有外来人口约850人，耕地5912亩，未注明年份。1999年起，村北先后有17家较大的企业落户，涉及玻璃、电子、纤维板、家具等。[1] 2019年9月，该村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
