历史沿革[edit]
姚姓始祖姚大义于南宋开禧三年（1207年）从江西迁来；文姓始祖文元嘉于南宋端平二年（1235年）由江西经东莞迁入。1952年，文屋、旧文、初溪等村合为初溪乡；公社化时是初溪大队；1983年11月公社撤销，初溪乡恢复。1987年1月撤乡改村，称初溪村委会，属三江镇；2004年增江街成立后改属增江街。[1]
环境[edit]
增江旧河道曾从村边流过，后来改道，留下大小鱼塘。村内建有初溪水利枢纽，并因增城绿道建设和游轮码头而有游客到访。[1]
荣誉[edit]
初溪村在2021年12月获广东省爱卫会授予的「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
