榄核村是广州市南沙区榄核镇的行政村，位于镇的中心城区，隔一道堤基与佛山市顺德区的五沙村相望[1]。“榄核”一名的由来，《番禺县镇村志》记为清康熙十九年（1680）渔民在滩涂采蚝，弃土受潮水作用堆成两头小、中间大的沙垄，后成陆开村[2]。
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初期，榄核村属沙九螺联乡，编为“新二村”；土地改革时设榄核小乡；1961年成立榄核人民公社，下设榄核大队；到1987年，榄核村民委员会成立[1]。
经济[edit]
据博雅地名网所载村情，2009年全村3938人，其中劳动力2359人，人均收入12906元，村集体经济总收入414万元，工农业总产值86780万元；耕地3169亩，种植以果蔗（1591亩）、香大蕉（875亩）和蔬菜为主，另有鱼塘295亩[1]。
