东瓜宇村在广州市南沙区南沙街道东北部，由东瓜宇、合成、蝴蝶洲、白藤滘4个自然村组成，村域4.12平方千米，村页写有773户、1685人，未注年份。[1]
得名与历史[edit]
据《番禺县镇村志》，明洪武年间（1368—1398年）先后有人在小岛上定居、种冬瓜，称冬瓜屿；清嘉庆年间（1796—1820年）取谐音，写作东瓜宇。[1]
合成、蝴蝶洲两村建于清光绪年间（1875—1908年），曾是渡口，后连成一片。1953年并入飞联乡，1957年单独建乡，1958年编为大队；1987年改称村，2005年10月后由村民委员会管理。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2024年11月，东瓜宇村被认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]
