历史沿革[edit]
清乾隆年间开始有人聚居。村口曾有一座木庙，故称木庙庄；后来因村落分处山岗东、西两麓，改称东庄、西庄，合称东西庄。1987年设立东西庄村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
据博雅地名网，村里常住人口789人，以种植花卉、果树和水产养殖为主，有花卉种植场377亩、果园450亩、养殖水面223亩。[1]百度百科则称2021年在册人口为864人，村域耕地保有量44.33公顷，并发展生态旅游，引进了农场和艺术项目。[2]
荣誉[edit]
据百度百科，东西庄村2019年被评为番禺区文明村，2021年起创建市级「美丽乡村」。[2]
