雅荷塘社区是广州市越秀区北京街道下辖的社区，辖区内曾有「雅荷塘」，社区以此得名[1]。
地名由来[edit]
地方传说，一位贫穷的老妇人节衣缩食攒下一口鱼塘，一夜塘中放光，挖出一尊古佛；她遗嘱以鱼塘收入作土地祠的祭祀费用，此塘因而出名，叫作阿婆塘，后来谐音成「雅荷塘」[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
雅荷塘一带在1954年设仓边街第二居委会，公社化期间叫洪桥人民公社榨粉管理区，1968年编为越华街第二居委会[1]。居委会改称雅荷塘、归北京街道，是1999年的事；福恩里居委会于2002年并入，名字没有变[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2021年被确定为广州市2021年绿色社区；2026年1月认定为2025年广州市充分就业社区[1]。
